For the first time ever, two separate boat shows came to Western Pennsylvania during the month of January. The Pittsburgh Boat Show settled in for two weekends at the Monroeville Convention Center and the brand new Three Rivers Boat Show joined the Outdoor Expo and Paddle Sports Pittsburgh the last weekend of the month at the David Lawrence Convention Center located downtown.
For those that love the water, both shows had plenty to see. While the Pittsburgh Boat Show boasted a larger selection of boats, the Three Rivers Show included numerous “outdoor” related vendors along with boats from several local dealerships. Check out the BoatPittsburgh.com Photo page for photos of both the Pittsburgh Boat Show and of the Three Rivers Boat Show.
As always, we were happy to see so many local boaters stop by the BoatPittsburgh.com booth and say hello. The black and silver koozies were a hit and hundreds of entries for the BoatPittsburgh.com Prize Pack stuffed the ballot box. Unfortunately, we could only pick one winner. Congratulations goes out to Doris Neuhausel as the 2017 winner. She and her husband are longtime boaters that dock their houseboat at the Oakmont Yacht Club.
For those of you that missed all of the fun at the boat shows or might still be looking for a new or pre-owned boat, don’t worry. Two local dealerships are holding open house this weekend. Both Fox Chapel Marine along the Allegheny River and Full Performance Marine located near Raystown Lake are welcoming prospective boat buyers to their facilities to enjoy boat show pricing without the admission fee. In addition to great deals, free food and giveaways will also be on tap for those in attendance. For more information, check out the Fox Chapel Marine and Full Performance Marine Facebook pages.
