Default Places to eat when boating in Pittsburgh

Hi everyone, we are looking for recommendations and ideas for good places to eat that are accessible from a boat near the point. We dock in the Southside and like to eat at Redfin Blues, but are looking for new places to try....without going through any locks! Got any suggestions? Thanks!

Any place except Bar Louie on the North Shore. Station Square if they still have transient docks. You can try Silky's, but they are hit or miss anymore with service and hours of operation. They open at 3 on Saturdays and noon on Sundays. There are some great places in downtown, but docking and walking can be a chore. Sienna Mercato is cool, but tying up at the convention center will get your boat rocked. It's a shame because that wall is pretty nice. Maybe if the extend the no wake zone to include that wall it will make Penn Ave a better destination for dinner/drinks.

Yep... the fam and I liked going to Station Square... but even going back 5/6 years... it was getting to a point where there was only a couple open docks. The real pisser there is... that was all supposed to be public, but the city leased it to a management company who quickly rented (long term) to boaters who don't even use their boats much.

AND... there was supposed to be docks at the Casino. AND... there use to be docks at sand castle. AND, the new docks at the south side have signs that require a minimum size to tie up. (at least they use to)

The city keeps talking about the water front places, and rejuvenation... but then they don't actually do anything to help the boaters who would support the rejuvenation projects. Heck... we can't even get them to fix the ramps that are around the city.

    Rant off.

The north shore is ok as long as there isn't anything going on. We liked River Towne... but I think they just closed.

The city's idea of riverfront development is making a nice place to walk and ride bicycles (and maybe hug a tree or two). Their idea of boaters is people paddling kayaks... They are not interested in developing spaces attractive to or useful to us "rich elitists" with power boats that are ruining "their" environment....
