It must be official, the 2017 boating season has arrived! Two boats in RIYC shed their cocoons this weekend. Hoorah!

Won't be long! I was at the Captains Quarters Marina today, and there were plenty of people starting to open up their boats.

The river never settles down for Thunder.

Some years are bad, and others are......really bad. :)

Last year was great. I heard the air show was going to be better this year. What is different? More big planes?

We dropped our boat in last weekend, river came up, but back down again. Woohoo ! Cold spells clearing out as well !
Now get down there and start cleaning them up...lol.

The mighty seas of the OHIO will be perfect for Thunder !
Air Show will be perfect as well - added lots more drones and balsa wood planes !

Hey Matt - we are heading down this afternoon to remove the winter wrap so Greenwell can do some top deck repair work before Thunder. The river forecast as it dropping pretty fast next week to pool - hopefully. Now lets all do the NO RAIN dance for the next two weeks and we should be in great shape this year. My buddy is one of the thunder guys and he told me that the airshow is going to be the best in years! There will not be any "airshow" military planes ever again due to the new bridge - but some nice big ones are coming back for the Airforce anniversary!! Be safe out there!

Speaking of Thunder, there were a few cancellations for KingFist at Jeffersonville that came in when the money was due. If anybody is looking for a spot, I can put you in touch with the right people at the restaurant to see if they have room. As of right now, there is room for at least one boat.

Short story is $20/ft rounded up to nearest 5', lay-along fixed docks, have to be there by 1 PM, no electric, no overnight. Best view in town! eric.grubb@boatlocal.com

I'll try to remember that for next year ! Last yr we dropped anchor at end of Jeff IN wall (away from traffic and had a ball) - free too.....lol.
Ventured out yesterday and boy was it rough, but nice day out. Good news - low debris. Here's to hoping for mild rains this week !!

Surprised the river is expected to remain at pool through the weekend... good news, in spite of the heavy rains over last weekend. Should be great for Thunder!
