Action Alert – WRRDA Floor Action
October 22, 2013
ACTION ITEM: Please contact your Congressional delegation and urge support of WRRDA.
H.R. 3080, the Water Resources Reform and Development Act of 2013, is scheduled to be considered on the House floor later this week, beginning on Wednesday morning. Final action could conclude Thursday evening, as no votes are scheduled on Friday.
The Transportation and Infrastructure Committee has until 5:00 this afternoon to file its committee report. In addition, we expect a manager’s amendment to be filed, possibly tomorrow. This information will be transmitted to you as soon as it becomes available.
The Committee on Rules is scheduled to meet today (Tuesday) afternoon at 5:00 to grant a rule that could limit the amendment process for floor consideration. Any amendments must be filed by tomorrow morning at 10:00. Given the bipartisan nature by which this bill moved through committee, it is anticipated that any amendments to be considered on the floor must have the support of the “Big 4” – the Full Committee’s Chairman and Ranking Member (Shuster and Rahall), and the Subcommittee’s Chairman and Ranking Member (Gibbs and Bishop).
